The A14 road-development has opened to traffic

Listed as the biggest road-development project in the UK, the A14, has opened to all traffic eight months ahead of schedule. The £1.5 billion A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon scheme will transform journeys throughout Cambridgeshire, taking up to 20 minutes off journey times. The strengthened links between the Midlands and the East of England will also improve journey times and accessibility for goods vehicles, particularly when travelling to the UK’s largest container port at Felixstowe. Hill & Smith were able to support Arbus Limited, the subcontractor responsible for the installation of all VRS works for the A14 project, from beginning to end thus ensuring the client had sufficient technical and commercial support making early completion achievable. Hill & Smith’s Flexbeam Vehicle Restraint Systems were manufactured and supplied to all five sections and were professionally installed by Arbus Limited; meeting, and often exceeding, all expectations. This was achieved due to the close, collaborative working relationships between Hill & Smith, Arbus Ltd and the A14 IDT.

Well done to all who were involved!
