Hill & Smith are members of the HS Roads and HS Security groups. Specialising in the development of Vehicle Restraint Systems for the highways sector, Hill & Smith design and independently test their systems to EN1317, NCHRP 350 and MASH. Their range includes the Flexbeam Family, the Brifen VRS and non-proprietary safety barrier systems.

By continuing to make improvements across our production facility we have achieved numerous certifications including the FORS Gold Award and the RoSPA Gold Award for accident prevention.
We have now completed a successful migration from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001:2018- Occupational Health & Safety Management System. Over 7,600 people die each day from work-related accidents or diseases. The burden of occupational injuries and diseases is significant, both for employers and the wider economy, resulting in losses from early retirements, staff absence and rising insurance premiums. ISO 45001 is a standard that helps organisations to improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks and create better, safer working conditions. The standard was developed by a committee of occupational health and safety experts, and follows other generic management system approaches such as ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
